Do you regularly dust your hens? Once Hen Mites have set it, its too late so, we regularly use Red Mite Powder to keep the mite at bay.
We recommend you regularly worm your chickens with Flubenvet especially if they are enclosed in a fixed run.
Unfortunately, chickens can attract flies in the summer time, so we recommend you use Red Top Fly Trap to prevent any problems

A tribute to Skits
Today has been a rather sad day, we’ve lost one of our hens, Chicklet and our faithful family friend, a 15 year old black Collie cross. Chicklet was the runt of the hens and probably the youngest from the greenhouse girls. She was the one that feathered up the least, so much so that Liz had made her a little red jacket to keep her warm. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough and Liz found Chicklet had gone on earlier today.
