About

Liz And Henrietta from RehomingBatteryHens.comMy name’s Liz and I am fortunate enough to have a flock of ex-battery hens commonly known as ex bats or as I call them the girls!

It all started when Mark, my partner and my children demolished an old Victorian green house at the bottom of the garden which fallen into unsalvageable disrepair. As the space was just begging to be used for something and as I’d always wanted chickens, we decided to go for it and rescue some battery hens.

This website is all about helping people who are considering rescuing battery hens. With my knowledge and experiences gained through rehoming our girls I can help you quickly get up and running with your chickens.

If you have any questions about this site or chickens, please use the form on the contact page or link to me through twitter and facebook. I’ll only be too glad to help.

Liz

  1. Hello and thank you for all you do for these dear souls. i have a farm in Pennsylvania, La Ronda Stables. I save and care for farm animals. Last Monday at a slaughter auction, I found a small, gentle little hen who is so wonderful. My vet tells me she is going to be fine, she is very happy and doing all the things she should. I want to save more Battery hens like her but I am not finding a source . I want to save them directly from the awful industry but need help as to where to go. Can you make a suggestion? Thanks so much and god bless, John
